Shifting Orbits Foundation is a for-purpose non-profit organization focused on embracing economically challenged families and providing them sustained support to complete their children’s educational journey. They do this through their scholarship programs and highly individualized after school intervention that they set up in low-income communities.
Nava Jeevan Trust (NJT) was formed in 1985 by a group of long-time social activists, to carryout various development programs aimed at children and women in underprivileged communities in and around Tirunelveli. Our vision is a just society where all people (especially women, children and workers) enjoy their economic freedom. Their programs are aimed at eradicating child labor and empowering women working in beedi factories.
Nalandaway’s Sakhi Project empowers adolescent girls from difficult and challenging backgrounds. This project is implemented in several cities across India. Over 225 girls between the ages 13 to 16 are part of the project. Spread over seven years, Project Sakhi helps the chosen ones get support around learning, emotional skills and health & hygiene amongst other areas. This creates healthy attitudes, relevant skills, functional habits and empowered beliefs.
